The South West London Gardener

Wimbledon Garden Transformation – SW19

The Brief

This Wimbledon garden had recently got new owners when we got the call to come and renovate.

The clients had recently moved in to their new home and required a quick, natural renovation to their new garden that remained within a strict budget.

The garden was a triangle which had had some care and attention over the previous years but which had recently become overgrown.

They wanted to work with the existing plants as much as possible but reduce the amount of space they were taking up to allow for a new lawn for their children to play on.

We stripped back lots of the previous plants.
We installed a neat and tidy flower bed

The Work

We started by evaluating the current plants and working out a garden design from which we could begin to work. We established what plants would remain before cutting them back and reshaping them which helped to create much more space.

We carefully chose additional plants to complement the existing ones and planted everything in reduced-width plant beds with additional natural leaf compost.

We added a bark mulch to further feed the soil, reduce moisture evaporation, and provide a lovely finishing touch to the beds.

A lot of ground preparation was carried out to give sufficient new soil depth for the new turf lawn to be laid.

A final touch was a bespoke new contemporary entry gate.

We added this delightful new entry gate.

This was a really pleasing and very quick transformation that left the clients delighted.
