Our clients, a young professional couple with two small children, wanted a comfortable, multi-functional space for al fresco relaxation and keeping two young children entertained.
The space comprised a private walled garden laid with porcelain tiles. Not only was this a little uninspiring and unwelcoming, it was also unsuitable for children to enjoy safely.

Our solution was to create an outdoor room accessed via bi-fold doors from the large family room/kitchen which is central to the family’s time together. The old tiles were replaced by a new artificial lawn, an ideal surface for children and simple to maintain for those with a busy schedule. The lawn was positioned between 3 planting beds, home to Mediterranean planting of olive trees, lavender as well as some low level evergreen shrubs and the climbing Jasmine.
The result is a stylish and welcoming garden room that successfully contributes as an extension of the property. An ideal space for family life and entertaining.
